Bestia is one of the trendiest spots in Los Angeles, run by the dynamic couple Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis. The industrial space pays homage to modern-day Italian style and cuisine. Everything is house-made, from the charcuterie to the pasta and pizza.

I must warn you that Bestia books up pretty far in advance. You really need to make a reservation, I say at least 90 days in advance if you can. If you have a party of 2, you might be able to get in sooner, but definitely any party size bigger than that you should reserve at least 3 months in advance.

You can reserve for free on Open Table.

I loved absolutely everything I had at Bestia. EVERYTHING. Truly a restaurant worthy of a special occasion. I have gone as a party of 2 and as a party of 10 for my birthday with a prix fixe menu and wine pairing. Here are some favorite items:

BESTIA: ANTIPASTI

  • Genevieve’s Little Gems (walnut vinaigrette, ricotta salata, soft herbs, radish, and shallots). Such a light, refreshing way to start out a heavy meal.

  • Roasted Marrow Bone (spinach gnocchetti, crispy breadcrumbs, and aged balsamic). The roasted bone marrow makes a creamy, savory sauce for the gnocchetti.

BESTIA: PIZZE

  • Clam (burrata, mozzarella, clams in escabeche, chili flakes, fresh oregano, paprika and garlic). The combination of the burrata and mozzarella make this pizza so creamy and smooth.

BESTIA: PASTE

  • Cavatelli alla Norcina (ricotta dumplings, housemade pork sausage, black truffles and grana padano). Creamy and savory, the dumplings melt in your mouth.

BESTIA: SECONDI

  • Grilled Whole Branzino (pea tendrils, fried herbs and grilled lemon). Cooked perfectly, the light citrus taste highlights the delicate flaky fish.

  • 32oz Bone-in Dry Aged Prime Ribeye (arugula, turnips, radish, tarragon, apple balsamic & brown butter). You must get medium rare, so perfectly juicy.

The sommelier was amazing and I highly recommend the pairing, or at least an Italian wine to pair with everything.

Attire is semi-casual and you may want to bring a light jacket in case you get seated outside. Bestia is a little more on the pricey side ($30-50 per person at least probably) and open for dinner only. However, there is valet (hard to find in LA), a beautiful patio and some of the best food in Los Angeles. Worth it and a must stop!
